Our HUMBLed beginning
His Grace Acres would never have begun if it wasn’t by the grace of God. Hence the name of our farm. We are so blessed to have this beautiful land and we wanted to put it to good use.
We both have grandparent’s and great great-grandparent’s who had farms when we were growing up. We had dreamed of the day that we could give our children, even just a taste, of what it was like being on a farm. We want to teach our children the value of what responsibility looks like, the reward of hard work, and to respect the animals and things around us. All things that we can take for granted for these days. We have a love for animals and the outdoors so we decided on adding some of the things we enjoyed the most. We wanted animals that our kids would enjoy and that would produce something for us on the farm vs. just being a pet. We recently decided on a crop that would grow well in our soil and climate and of course be something we love eating.
We get asked a lot why we would want to own a farm, "isn’t it a lot of hard work?" Well to answer that question best comes from one of my son’s favorite Bernstein Bear books, Why yes, farming might be hard work, but we love it. So I guess you could say farming is hard fun!
